The parking area is situated directly by the Achensee lake, just below the Achensee-Bundesstraße at the level of the Bergkristall Restaurant. It is also used by surfers and kiters as a launching point.

Accessibility to the Achensee Parkplatz am Bootshaus is supplemented by other parking areas near Achensee. The Atoll Achensee parking area, which is located near the Atoll Achensee beach, is one such facility. A smaller parking area in Pertisau on the opposite side of the lake is also available, along with a larger hiking parking area at the entrance to the Karwendeltäler. Another hiking parking area can be found in Achenkirch, which is used for the Falkenmoosalm hike or the Juifen or Hochplatte tours.
