Akkum Plajı

Akkum Plajı, also known as Büyük Akkum Plajı, is a prominent beach located in the Seferihisar district of Izmir province, Turkey. The district is an integral part of the Aegean Region, known for its fertile lands, sunlit climate, and historical richness.

The beach is situated in Sığacık, a quaint and serene coastal town that attracts numerous visitors during the summer months. The beach has a length of 50 meters and a width of 120 meters, offering ample space for visitors to enjoy. It is easily accessible to the public with direct access to the sea. The beach is well-known for its natural beauty, featuring a sandy shore with no pebbles or rocks, and crystal clear blue sea waters, which earned it a Blue Flag designation.

Akkum Plajı is well-equipped with essential amenities for visitors. It offers sunbeds and umbrellas designated for usage by the general public as well as for disabled individuals. There are also ramps and disabled toilets to cater to the needs of disabled visitors. However, it lacks elevators from the pier for disabled access to the sea and floating wheelchairs for swimming.

In addition to these facilities, the beach provides various options for food and drinks. It is also equipped for water sports, making it an ideal location for windsurfing enthusiasts. Despite its popularity, some visitors have reported the beach to be calm and not overly crowded, providing a peaceful beach experience.

Akkum Plajı is accessible by public transportation, with a travel time of approximately 40 minutes from the city center.
