Strand Am Leuchtturm

Strand am Leuchtturm, Falshöft is a serene and picturesque beach located in Germany, near the Falshöft lighthouse. The lighthouse, a 25-meter tall structure made of red and white cast iron elements, stands adjacent to the beach and the Geltinger Birk nature reserve. It was constructed in the early 20th century and functioned as a navigational aid for ships navigating through the Geltinger Bay and Flensburg Fjord until its beacon was extinguished in 2012. Today, the lighthouse is admired for its panoramic views of the Baltic Sea and the Geltinger Birk nature reserve from its two galleries.

The beach itself is a blend of sandy and stony terrain and is known for its tranquil ambiance. Its clear waters provide a great spot for swimming, although due to the presence of stones, visitors are advised to exercise caution while bathing barefoot. On clear weather days, the beach offers a clear view of Denmark, and the path leading up to the Gelting nature reserve, accessible by bike, is known for its scenic beauty.

Strand am Leuchtturm, Falshöft is relatively free of large crowds, preserving its natural charm. It does not offer typical tourist amenities like beach chairs, instead focusing on maintaining its natural allure. Despite its appealing natural features and easy accessibility, particularly by bicycle, the beach remains relatively uncrowded, providing a serene environment for visitors.
