Blindsee

Blindsee is a picturesque mountain lake nestled in the wooded terrains of Biberwier in the Zugspitz Arena. The lake, with an elevation of 1093 meters and spanning an area of 26 hectares, is known for its stunning mountainous views and tranquil atmosphere. It is a favored destination for many during the summer season, offering a serene retreat from the daily hustle and bustle.

The lake's water, with a depth of up to 25 meters, provides an incredible visibility of up to 25 meters, making it a diver's paradise. The underwater world of Blindsee comprises of unique motifs formed by tree trunks, washed into the lake by avalanches. However, diving and boating in the lake require a license and permission from Hotel MOHR life resorts, the private owner of the lake.

The lake's beach area, while small, is a hub of activity, offering a range of watersport activities. It can, at times, get crowded due to its popularity. In addition to this, the beach also serves as a starting point for a scenic hiking trail, providing an opportunity to appreciate the area's natural beauty more intimately.

Access to Blindsee is limited to the summer months and is facilitated through a toll road. Guests possessing a guestcard can enjoy free access, while others are required to pay a toll fee. There is a paid parking lot adjacent to the lake for convenience. For those who prefer a scenic route, a free parking lot is available about 2 kilometers away, from where a 20-minute walk through a forest road leads to the lake. This route is popular among walkers and cyclists alike.
