Büyük Liman Plajı, also recognized as Amasra Merkez, is a beach situated in Amasra, a renowned tourism destination in Bartin, Turkey. Known for its picturesque view of the sea and the surrounding landscape, Büyük Liman Plajı is centrally placed in Amasra, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists. In terms of natural characteristics, Büyük Liman Plajı is known for its calm waters, which are home to a diverse array of marine life, including various species of fish and jellyfish. However, the beach has garnered attention for its lack of cleanliness, with debris such as cigarette butts, beer caps, and broken glass often found scattered both on the beach and in the water. The presence of grass and algae is also a common feature of this beach. Despite these conditions, Büyük Liman Plajı tends to be crowded, particularly during weekends, even outside of the peak tourist season. This popularity has led to the beach being partially owned by private entities, leaving limited space for the public. The beach provides several amenities, including restrooms and a buffet, though the prices at the buffet have been suggested to be high. Additionally, Büyük Liman Plajı offers parking and valet services, with motorcycles being permitted to park at no cost. The beach has undergone considerable development over the years. What was once a more secluded and natural location, with trees providing cover, has seen the addition of guide boats and a large concrete pier. Despite these changes, the beach still offers a beautiful view, including a bridge on the left side.
