Playa Candelaria

Playa Candelaria is a popular beach destination located in the municipality of Candelaria, on the island of Tenerife, which is part of the Canary Islands, Spain. The beach is situated in an urban setting and is known for its unique landscape of dark sand and strong waves. It stretches 590 meters in length and 24 meters in width.

This beach is particularly known for its dark sandy areas interspersed with rocks, which range in size from small pebbles to larger stones measuring 5-10 cm. However, visitors should be aware that larger stones can be found in the water a few meters from the shore when the tide recedes. Playa Candelaria offers several amenities to its visitors, including showers for convenience. Additionally, lifeguards and medical personnel are present on the beach, ensuring the safety of all visitors. Despite its popularity, the beach does not have facilities for disabled access.

Parking at Playa Candelaria can be a challenge due to its popularity, especially during peak season when the beach tends to be crowded. However, an unguarded parking lot with more than 100 spaces is available. Despite the potential difficulty, with some patience, it is usually possible to find a parking spot.

The beach is easily accessible by foot or car, and can also be reached by public transportation.
