Castle Beach

Castle Beach is a picturesque beach nestled in Falmouth, Cornwall, known for its unique coastline and clear waters. The beach is situated alongside Pendennis Point, placing it as the most northerly among the beaches in Falmouth. The beach's landscape consists of rocky sections interspersed with golden sands. This makes it an excellent destination for activities such as rockpooling, diving, and snorkelling, particularly during low tide. However, visitors should be aware that at high tide, the majority of the beach becomes submerged.

Amenities available at Castle Beach include a cafe known as the Castle Beach Cafe. The cafe also sells beach essentials like beach balls, buckets, and spades, and it operates from Easter to September.

Parking near the beach is facilitated by road parking, with the nearest car park being situated along Pendennis Point. However, there is no dedicated car park exclusive to the beach. Visitors can also commute to the beach via public transport, with the Maritime Train Line service providing a twice hourly service connecting Falmouth to Truro. The Falmouth Docks or Falmouth Town station stops are conveniently located within a 5-minute walk from the beaches along Castle Drive.

Despite its beauty and amenities, Castle Beach does not have a lifeguard service. It is also important to note that the beach has some restrictions for dogs on the sand during the summer. However, dogs are permitted on the concrete walkway at all times. The beach's sea floor slopes off quite steeply from the shore, making it advisable for visitors with young children to exercise caution.

Castle Beach is a popular destination, especially during holiday periods. Despite this, it is often less busy than other beaches, making it a preferred choice for families and individuals seeking a more tranquil seaside experience. With its clear waters, sandy shore, and rocky landscape, Castle Beach offers a unique coastal experience that is truly worth exploring.
