Plage de Castoul

Plage de Castoul, often referred to as Le Palais, is a beautiful beach located in Le Palais, Morbihan, in the region of Bretagne. The beach is situated on the north coast of Belle Ile en Mer, a picturesque island known for its natural beauty.

The beach is characterized by its fine sand and transparent waters, which create a serene and tranquil environment. It is notable for its flat and gently sloping seabed, making it an ideal spot for swimming. Plage de Castoul is an expansive beach, stretching over a length of 130 meters. Despite its size, the beach maintains a natural and wild atmosphere, with the coastline providing a scenic backdrop. The beach is sunny until mid-afternoon, after which the tall coast provides shade and a cool retreat from the sun, offering visitors a respite during the hotter parts of the day.

The beach caters to a diverse crowd, making it a family-friendly location during the morning while attracting a younger crowd in the evening. It's a popular spot for picnics and is known to be a social meeting place later in the day. However, due to its popularity and size, it can become crowded at times.

Access to Plage de Castoul is provided via a fairly steep concrete staircase, which might be challenging for those with strollers. For those arriving by car, a small parking area is available overlooking the beach. However, it requires a short 250-meter walk along the coastal path as the road does not extend directly to the beach. Despite the walk, the beach's beauty and natural charm make it a worthwhile destination.
