Plage de Céligny

The Plage de Céligny is a small but charming beach located in Céligny, Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Geneva. Despite its modest size, it is recognized for its beautiful views and easy access to the water. The beach is characterized by a unique combination of grass and pebbles, adding to its distinctive atmosphere. The clear blue waters of the lake provide an ideal spot for sunbathing and swimming.

The beach is equipped with several facilities for the comfort of its visitors. These include toilets, a cold water shower, and changing rooms, which are adorned in blue and white stripes, adding a touch of Mediterranean charm. A plancha is available for grilling, although it operates during specific hours to minimize disturbance to the local residents. In addition, a bar was established in 2020 to provide quality drinks and small meals during the summer season.

The beach also features a children's playground and a barbecue area, as well as a canoe rack. However, the commune does not take responsibility for the canoe rack. A deck is set up for visitors to take in the breathtaking surroundings. Despite the crowd, the beach maintains a pleasant atmosphere that is loved by many.

The Plage de Céligny is accessible by foot, located next to a nearby pier. Visitors can also reach the beach by bus or train to the Céligny station, followed by a short 600-meter walk. Alternatively, access can be granted by taking a boat to the Céligny landing stage on the lake.

There are some restrictions in place to maintain the peaceful environment of the beach. These include a prohibition on mini-grills or camping equipment, dogs (even on a leash), and music. The beach is open until 11 pm, while the refreshment stand closes at 11:30 pm.
