Churston Cove

Churston Cove is a scenic and secluded beach located in Brixham, characterized by its serene environment and stunning views. The cove is surrounded by cliffs and mature woodland, creating a tranquil atmosphere. The beach itself consists of a mixture of shingle and sand, and the water is noted for its cleanliness.

The path to Churston Cove is steep and passes through the surrounding wooded hillsides, which can pose a challenge for those with mobility issues. Despite this, the journey to the beach is considered worthwhile due to the beauty of the cove and its surroundings. From the beach, visitors have the opportunity to watch yachts and other boats pass by, engage in paddleboarding, or simply relax and watch the sunset.

While Churston Cove does not have toilets or other facilities, it is well-maintained by the Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust. Dogs are permitted on the beach throughout the year, making it a great location for a walk with a pet. The cove is generally quieter than other nearby locations, offering visitors a peaceful spot to unwind.

Parking is available at Freshwater car park, located at a distance from the beach. Visitors should note that access to the beach for disabled individuals is challenging due to the steep and uneven nature of the path. Despite the lack of amenities and the somewhat difficult access, Churston Cove is regarded as a beautiful destination worth visiting.
