Spiaggia del Cannone is a small, secluded sandy beach in the city of Tropea, situated in the Calabria region of Italy. The beach is nestled between the Scoglio di San Leonardo and the city's tourist port. The beach's unique position near the beginning of the tourist port's pier and the protection it receives from the Scoglio di San Leonardo make it one of the smallest and most hidden inlets along the Tropea coast. The beach's name, which translates to "Cannon Beach," originates from a seventeenth-century cannon discovered in the nearby waters, now displayed at the panoramic belvedere of Largo Galluppi.

This beach's natural beauty is characterized by its soft, light-colored sand and the clear, turquoise waters of the sea that surround it. The sea's depth increases rapidly upon entering, adding to the allure of the beach. One of the most striking natural features of the beach is the cliff of the Sanctuary of S. Maria dell'Isola, overlooking the bay and contributing a mystical element to the location.

Spiaggia del Cannone is accessible via stairs situated at the corner between the large pier and the rocky area. However, it lacks amenities, with parking being the only service available. Despite this, the beach is a popular destination for tourists and can get crowded during the high season. Its position under a rock provides shade throughout the day, making it a comfortable spot for beachgoers.

Another notable feature of Spiaggia del Cannone is a nearby cave with an additional entrance accessible from the beach. According to local lore, merchants would immerse lupini, an edible seed, in rock-carved tanks filled with seawater within this cave to mature them. Despite its popularity and the crowds during peak season, the beach retains its tranquility and privacy, making it an ideal spot for those seeking a peaceful seaside experience.
