Playa del Trabucador

Playa del Trabucador is a naturally beautiful isthmus located in the coastal town of Sant Carles de la Ràpita, within the Ebro Delta Natural Park in Tarragona. It is characterized by its extensive stretch of fine sand, extending 6.5 kilometers into the sea and connecting the Ebro Delta with Punta de la Banya. This unique geographical position allows visitors to see the sea on both sides of the beach - one side facing the calm Mediterranean Sea, the other opening up to the Bay of Alfaques.

The beach is known for its warm water, especially during the summer months, making it a popular spot for water activities such as windsurfing and kitesurfing. The shallow depth of the bay in this area makes it particularly suitable for beginners and children. A lighthouse at the end of the beach serves as a popular spot for taking pictures and witnessing beautiful sunsets, especially from the wooden walkway at the Barra del Trabucador pier.

In addition to its natural beauty, Playa del Trabucador offers a range of amenities. It is a family-friendly location with a large shallow pool on one side that never goes above hip level, making the beach accessible for children and people with disabilities. The beach is also dog-friendly and permits nudism all year round. Despite its popularity, the beach is spacious enough that it doesn't feel crowded, offering a peaceful day out for families.

Sant Carles de la Ràpita, the town where the beach is located, is known for its natural beauty and diverse marine and terrestrial ecosystems within the Ebro Natural Park. Visitors can also enjoy hiking and cycling routes in the park. The town features a seaside promenade leading to a fishing port where fresh fish can be purchased directly from the boats.
