The Spiaggia di Fontania is a small, picturesque beach located on the southern coast of Gaeta, on the Riviera di Ulisse, in Italy. It is known for its unique blend of natural beauty, historical importance, and archaeological intrigue. However, due to its location, covered by a small hill and exposed opposite to the sun, it is the first beach to be shadowed at sunset, adding to its unique charm.

Spiaggia di Fontania is rich in historical and archaeological value. It is home to the remains of an ancient Roman villa, thought to be the villa of Roman consul Gneo Fonteo, dating back to the 1st century AD.

In terms of amenities, the beach offers the rental of sunbeds and umbrellas, creating a comfortable environment for visitors. There is also a well-stocked bar and a small restaurant within the same structure, allowing visitors to enjoy meals on-site. However, there is a private garden nearby where visitors can enjoy sunbathing and relaxation, albeit at a higher cost. There is also a restaurant in close proximity to the beach, making it convenient for visitors to have meals. Parking is available at the beach, although it is not free.

The beach is conveniently situated near the breathtaking Belvedere viewpoint, which overlooks the sea. It is also easily accessible, located approximately 5 km from the historic center of Gaeta, which can be reached by car in just 10 minutes.
