Spiaggia di Cala Sant'Andrea is a coastal inlet located in the Asinara National Park, in the south-eastern part of the island. The beach is characterized by its granite rocks and a beautiful white sand beach, which contrasts with the crystalline blue and turquoise colors of the sea. The beach is part of Zone A of the park, an area of exceptional beauty and naturalistic-environmental interest.
Access to the beach is not permitted, even on foot, except for operations strictly related to the management of the Park. Despite this, the beach can be admired from the so-called 'granite path'. This trail, starting from Fornelli, runs almost parallel to the coastline of the south-eastern part of the island, and skirts Zone A of Cala Sant'Andrea.
The path also includes a pond behind the dunes of brackish water, where it is possible to observe a rich birdlife. The path is surrounded by Palaeozoic granite formations and characteristic vegetation, including beautiful specimens of juniper and an exuberant scrub dominated by tree euphorbias and numerous coastal endemisms.
Visitor reviews highlight the exceptional beauty of the island, particularly its stunning flora, fauna, and picturesque trails. The beach, characterized by granite rocks and white sand against the backdrop of a crystalline blue and turquoise sea, is frequently mentioned as a highlight. However, visitors express frustration about the beach's restricted access and the high cost of boat transportation to the island.
