Playa Cala de Enmedio

Playa Cala de Enmedio, Níjar is a picturesque beach situated in the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Níjar in Almería, Andalusia, Spain. The beach is known for its unique natural characteristics, such as its fine dark sand, crystal-clear waters, and white rocky cliffs formed by fossilized dunes. The contrast between the white cliffs and the blue sea is truly breathtaking, creating a natural geological spectacle. The beach is also home to a large number of fish, adding to its natural charm.

Located between the hills of La Higuera to the south and El Cuartel to the north, the beach offers a view of the town of Agua Amarga in the distance. Despite its remote location, the beach can get crowded at times, with frequent boats and speedboats arriving to drop off or pick up visitors.

Access to the beach is limited to foot, boat, or 4x4 vehicle, which adds to its secluded appeal. The beach can be reached by following a trail that starts from the parking area of Cala del Plomo, which is located about 300 meters inland from the beach. The trail initially follows a local path marked with white and blue signs leading to Agua Amarga. After a steep climb and descent, a right turn leads to a ravine that paves the way to Playa Cala de Enmedio. The journey to the beach can be a bit challenging due to the narrow and broken roads, and the walk from the parking area itself takes approximately 25 minutes.

The parking area at Cala del Plomo can be reached by a 7-kilometer dirt road from the road connecting Las Negras and Fernán Pérez. Despite the somewhat difficult journey, visitors agree that the beauty of the beach makes it worth the effort. Visitors are advised to exercise caution as the rocks can be slippery.
