Plage Fernandel

Plage Fernandel, also known as Plage du Port ou de Fernandel, is a scenic beach located in Carry-le-Rouet, Bouches-du-Rhone, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (PACA) region of France. It is nestled on both sides of the port of Carry-le-Rouet, offering visitors a view of the bustling marine activity.

The beach is divided into two small sandy areas. One of these sections is known to be hazardous due to the risk of landslides, and access to it is therefore prohibited. Despite this, it is equipped with a shower for the convenience of beachgoers. The other part of the beach, located at the end of Quai Malleville, consists of several smaller sandy spots along the Lizard Trail. This trail serves as a guided tour for visitors to explore the diverse fauna and flora of the Côte Bleue coastline. However, these beaches are not supervised, and visitors are advised to exercise caution when swimming.

Plage Fernandel is known for its clear, translucent waters and sandy micro-beaches. It is a stone beach, devoid of pebbles, making it an intriguing spot for snorkelling as the rocks attract a variety of fish species. Visitors are recommended to bring water shoes as the rocky terrain can be challenging to navigate barefoot.

The beach is well-maintained and clean, with shady corners providing relief from the sun. Despite its small size, Plage Fernandel is well-attended and is not typically crowded, offering a serene and calm environment for visitors. The beach is near the port of Carry-le-Rouet, where numerous restaurants and bars can be found, providing ample dining options for beachgoers.
