Hacıveli Plajı

Hacıveli Plajı is a historical beach situated in Abana Merkez Mahallesi, a district in the Karadeniz region of Turkey. Its location in Abana, a place considered one of the oldest settlements in the region, adds a historical flavor to the beach. The beach is located in the main settlement of Abana, Hacıveli, which is three kilometers east of the current district.

The geographical structure of Abana, where the beach is located, is notable for its 11-kilometer coastline along the Black Sea, forests, shrubs, and rocky areas. The district has a typical Black Sea climate, characterized by warm summers and mild winters, with sufficient rainfall throughout the year. Adding to the natural beauty of the area are the steep slopes and canyons formed by local rivers and the ancient Hacıveli Bay, which once served as a refuge for pirates.

Access to the beach is primarily provided through the Abana-Bozkurt-Devrekâni highway, which connects the district to the Kastamonu city center, 98 kilometers away. The terrain in the region is mountainous, resulting in winding roads with sharp turns. Public transportation services, including minibuses and buses, operate between Abana and Kastamonu and other cities like Istanbul.

Hacıveli Plajı is a large, wide beach known for its beautiful views. The terrain of the beach is stony, and the sea, often wavy, may not be suitable for novice swimmers. Despite these characteristics, the sea is generally clean, albeit slightly cold. Amenities at the beach include sun lounger and umbrella services. However, cleanliness in the beach area and its surroundings has been noted as an area for improvement. The safety of the beach has also been brought into question.
