Herrensee Strandbad, situated in the city of Litschau, is a popular beach destination frequented by tourists and locals alike. Its main attraction is the Herrensee, a lake spanning 24 hectares and stretching 1.6 kilometers in length. The lake's water quality meets stringent bathing water standards, and it offers a variety of activities such as swimming, fishing, boating, and hiking.

Outside of bathing hours, the beach area is freely accessible, but dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
The beach also offers additional facilities and services, including boat rentals such as electric, pedal, and rowing boats, along with surf bikes and kayaks for exploring the lake. During the winter, when the nights are freezing cold, visitors can enjoy ice skating and ice stock shooting on the natural ice surface of the Herrensee.
In terms of accessibility, visitors can reach Herrensee Strandbad via public transportation. Bus 740 operates from Monday to Saturday, starting from Gmünd train station to Litschau bus station, from which it is approximately a 20-minute walk to the beach. Alternatively, taxi services are available for transport to the beach.
The beach is also equipped with parking facilities, with free parking available nearby. Despite its popularity, the beach maintains a relaxed atmosphere, providing a serene environment with shady spots under trees, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing family vacation. The beach is safe and clean, and the area is known for its natural beauty, adding to the overall beach experience.
