Despite being relatively unknown, this beach has been a popular filming location for Hollywood movies such as The King Kong (1976), Six Days Seven Nights, Honeymoon in Vegas, Acapulco Gold, Pirates of the Caribbean, among others.

Honopu Beach's natural beauty remains unspoiled as boat landings are not permitted.
