Kapari Beach

Kapari Beach is a picturesque coastal destination situated in the Mykonos community of Greece. It is located behind the chapel of Agios Ioannis and is one of the few unorganized beaches in Mykonos. Known for its serene and relaxing ambiance, Kapari Beach is a popular spot for both local and international visitors.

The beach is characterized by its sandy and semi-private nature, which differentiates it from other beaches in Mykonos that are often pebbled and rocky. The crystal-clear, shallow waters extend far from the shore, providing an excellent spot for swimming. One of the unique features of Kapari Beach is the large waves created by passing ferries. Visitors are advised to secure their belongings and either sit up in the rocks or place their items in the grass at the back of the beach. The beach is also renowned for its magnificent sunsets, offering visitors a tranquil and picturesque experience.

Despite its many attractions, Kapari Beach does not have parking facilities next to it. Visitors can park their cars on the road leading to the beach. However, it's important to note that accessing the beach requires a slight climb down, so visitors are recommended to wear proper shoes to ensure safety.

Kapari Beach is not far from Chora, the main town of Mykonos. There are various ways to reach the beach from different locations on the island. From the airport, the beach is 6 km away, from the new port it is 9 km away, and from the town, it is 5.5 km away. Public transfers like buses are available as well. The bus route from Mykonos town (Fabrika) to Agios Ioannis, which is close to Kapari Beach, has several departures during the day. The bus routes from the airport and the new port to Kapari also involve a transfer at Fabrika.
