Plage de Kérel

Plage de Kérel is a serene beach located in the town of Bangor, within the region of Morbihan in Bretagne, France. Noted for its natural charm, the beach is not widely known but is highly valued by those who visit. Spanning approximately 750 meters at low tide, the beach is characterized by a gently sloping landscape adorned with fine, yellow sand. It is one of the warmest beaches on the island and is well-shielded from western winds.

The beach's natural features are enhanced by the presence of several small coves and a deep "back beach," all easily accessible. The clear waters and gentle slope make it a safe place for children to play and an ideal spot for launching boats. However, visitors are advised to be vigilant as the beach is not supervised and there is a risk of venomous fish.

Plage de Kérel is also distinguished by its tranquil atmosphere, with a preserved dune backing the beach adding to its allure. Despite its natural beauty and accessibility, the beach is typically not crowded, allowing visitors to enjoy a peaceful experience.

Amenities at Plage de Kérel include a nearby car park that can accommodate around 30 vehicles, adding convenience for visitors. Many, however, prefer to arrive by bike. The beach is located off the road to Grand-Village, just after the church in Bangor. From there, it is a 200-meter walk to reach the beach. It is a popular spot for walkers on the GR 340 trail.

One thing to keep in mind is that the beach does not have network coverage. Despite this, Plage de Kérel continues to attract those seeking a serene and natural beach experience.
