After crossing the La Borgne river bridge, yellow signs for pedestrian paths indicate the starting point of the hike. The hike, approximately 6 km long, is classified as T2 in difficulty and is suitable for children. The walk time is between 2 to 3 hours, with an elevation gain of around 500 meters. The recommended period to visit is from May to October. For those who prefer public transportation, the nearest train station is Sion. From Sion, visitors can take a postal bus towards "Les Haudères" and stop at the Evolène Village. From Evolène, it takes around 75 minutes to hike to the lake. If travelling by car, visitors can take the Montreux highway exit towards Sion Est and follow the signs for Val d'Hérens until reaching Evolène. A small free parking lot is available at the entrance of the village. Visitors to Lac d'Arbey can enjoy a variety of amenities. The area around the lake is well-equipped with picnic tables, making it an ideal spot for picnics. There is also a refreshment stand called Arbey, where visitors can unwind and enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Dent Blanche mountain and the Val d'Hérens.
