Cala L'Andragó

Cala L'Andragó is a picturesque cove located in the town of Moraira, in Teulada, Alicante, on Spain's Costa Blanca. The beach is known for its unique rocky terrain and crystal-clear waters, which are home to a diverse array of flora and fauna, making it a popular spot for snorkeling, diving, and fishing. The underwater landscape is particularly stunning, with dense colonies of seagrass alternating with white sand, and a variety of Mediterranean coastal fauna and flora on display.

The cove is semi-urban, surrounded by residential areas, yet some parts of the beach provide a sense of being in nature. It is adorned with large rocks, providing a unique setting for sunbathing and relaxation, but also necessitating the use of special shoes for comfort and safety, especially when swimming near the rocks. The beach also features a scenic viewpoint that is part of the coastal viewpoint route, offering panoramic views of Moraira and Cabo d'Or.

Cala L'Andragó is spacious, with a length of 150 meters and a width of 10 meters. The beach has a small pebble area of about 30 meters, followed by a large flat rock platform of 120 meters, providing easy access to the sea. The first rocky area is spacious and has a pool ladder for easy access to and from the sea. Despite its popularity, the cove tends not to be overly crowded, offering a somewhat secluded experience.

In terms of amenities, there are several establishments nearby where visitors can enjoy a meal or a drink, with some offering live music, perfect for ending the day. The beach also has lifeguard services during the summer season.

Access to the beach is relatively straightforward, with a small parking area that can accommodate about 40 cars. Despite the rocky terrain, which may require some effort to navigate, the natural beauty and unique snorkeling opportunities make the journey worthwhile for many visitors. It is recommended to visit early in the morning or during months other than July and August to avoid crowds. Alternatively, visiting in the late afternoon is also a good option, especially for those interested in dining at the variety of restaurants available.
