Lenkerseeli

Lenkerseeli is a picturesque lake nestled in the municipality of Lenk im Simmental, located in the canton of Bern, Switzerland. Positioned at an elevation of 1064 meters above sea level, the lake is part of the Lenkersee Nature Reserve and is nourished by the Eylibach, which subsequently flows into the Simme River.

The lake is surrounded by a tranquil atmosphere, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. It offers stunning views and opportunities for a leisurely walk along its entire perimeter. Visitors are also encouraged to feed the local ducks that inhabit the area. Despite its popularity, Lenkerseeli maintains a serene ambiance, particularly during the early morning hours.

A significant feature of Lenkerseeli, Lenk is the AlpKultur® Spielplatz Lenkerseeli, a large playground that spreads over an area of 7,000 square meters. It promotes Alpine culture and consists of a variety of play elements, including a traditional Swiss Alphorn. The playground is open to all ages and can be visited at any time as it operates round the clock.

Additionally, a miniature steam train called Strubeli Bähnli operates from May to October, offering rides around the playground. The train route spans 400 meters and runs every 15 minutes.

Several amenities are available at Lenkerseeli, Lenk. There is a seasonal kiosk near the lake, offering refreshments, ice cream, and warm Croque-Monsieur sandwiches during the summer. During the winter, however, the kiosk remains closed. A coffee shop is also available on-site, catering to visitors' need for food and drinks.

The area around Lenkerseeli is equipped with picnic areas and a barbecue area, providing a great spot for outdoor meals. For families, the presence of a large playground, a sensory trail, and a miniature steam train further enhance the appeal of the location.
