Playa de Levante

Playa de Levante, also known as Playa Los Toruños, is a tranquil beach located in El Puerto de Santa María, near Cadiz, Spain. This serene beach is known for its natural beauty, nestled near dune hills and featuring golden, slightly coarse sand. The waters at Playa de Levante are often calm yet windy, attracting enthusiasts of wind sports such as kite surfing and wind surfing.

Stretching approximately 4.5 km long and about 55 meters wide, this beach offers a peaceful and uncrowded environment. Despite its size, it is not very popular due to its somewhat difficult access. However, this also contributes to the beach's tranquility, making it less crowded than other nearby beaches.

To reach Playa de Levante, visitors can take the bus M041 from Cadiz and alight at the 'Los Toruños V' bus station. From here, a 10-minute walk will take visitors to the tourist information center, 'Casa de Los Toruños', where bicycles can be rented or an electric train can be taken to the beach. For those choosing to drive, it is recommended to park at Las Aletas train station and then walk approximately 2km to the beach, crossing over a bridge.

Playa de Levante is unique in that it is the only beach in El Puerto de Santa María and the Bay of Cádiz that has a nudist area. This dedicated nudist area is located about halfway along the beach, approximately 1,700 meters from Valdelagrana, and is usually not very crowded.

Visitors should note that amenities at the beach are limited. There are no umbrellas or places to buy food or drinks, and the only service offered is surveillance. However, there is a beach bar, or chiringuito, where visitors can enjoy stunning sunsets.

While the beach is suitable for people of all ages, it is recommended that visitors bring everything they need for their visit. Despite the limited amenities, the tranquility, natural beauty, and unique features of Playa de Levante make it a worthwhile destination.
