Marmaros Plaji

Marmaros Plaji is a serene beach situated on the northern coast of an island in the Marmara Region. It is renowned for its pristine natural beauty, characterized by smoothly rounded rocks the size of fists and clear, crystalline waters. The beach is bordered by lush pine forests, which contribute to its tranquil and unspoiled allure.

The beach can be reached by a 7 km long road that winds through the surrounding pine forests. However, this road is sometimes closed to prevent forest fires. Although the road conditions are rough and are best navigated with a 4X4 vehicle, it is possible to approach the beach with a regular car, provided extra caution is taken.

One of the distinctive features of Marmaros Plaji is the nearby Marmaros Waterfall. This waterfall can be accessed after an hour's trek from a dirt path that branches off to the right before reaching the beach. The waterfall is particularly striking during the winter and spring months due to the increased water flow.

In contrast to its natural charm, Marmaros Plaji is relatively undisturbed and not overly crowded, which could be attributed to its remote location and the challenging road that leads to it. There are no settlements in the vicinity of the beach, further amplifying its seclusion.

The beach offers a captivating view of Samothraki, which makes the challenging drive worthwhile. It is one of the few bays on the island's northern coast where swimming is possible, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a tranquil beach experience.
