Platja d'Illetes

Platja d'Illetes, also known as Ses Illetes, is a picturesque beach located in the Ses Salines de Eivissa and Formentera Natural Park in Formentera. Notably, it is considered one of the world's most beautiful beaches. The beach spans over 450 meters and is bifurcated into two sections by a small rocky area. Its name, "Ses Illetes," is derived from the islets that can be seen off the coast, which include Illa de Tramuntana, Illa des Forn, Escull des Pou, Illa Redona, and Escull d'en Palla.

One of the beach's most striking features is its tranquil, shallow turquoise waters, complemented by fine white sand. As the beach forms part of a natural park, the surrounding environment is well-preserved with areas dedicated to dune protection, access walkways, and designated parking spaces. The beach also hosts a variety of restaurants along its coastline, making it a preferred destination for families due to its safety and available amenities.

Despite its popularity, the beach is spacious enough to prevent overcrowding, particularly in the northern area where it borders the neighboring Llevant beach. Venturing northwards, visitors can reach the island's end and view the nearby island of Espalmador. On the southern end, the Cavall d'en Borràs beach can be found, separated by a rocky area called Es Pujol d'en Palo and the petite Des Carregador beach.

In addition to being a prime location for summer swimming, Platja d'Illetes is an ideal spot for long walks during the colder months. Although there is a small fee for those accessing the natural park by car or motorbike, entry on foot or by bicycle is completely free.

While the beach is relatively small and secluded, it is well-equipped with a range of facilities including sun loungers, paddle boards, and kid-friendly boats equipped with slides. There is also a beach club that serves food and drinks starting from 10 AM. Close by, visitors can find various shops and a professional massage center.

Visitors should be aware that the beach can become quite crowded, especially during the afternoon hours. It is therefore advisable to arrive early in the morning to secure a spot and avoid the crowd. While sun beds and umbrellas are available, they are often affiliated with the hotels above and require advance booking. As there are no natural shades available, it is recommended to bring your own umbrella if you're sensitive to the sun.

Regarding accessibility, visitors have the option to walk down to the beach or park their cars near the beach club for free. The beach is child-friendly with safe and easy access to the sea. Its clear waters offer easy visibility of fish and the sea bottom, making it an ideal location for families.
