Plišivac Beach

Plišivac Beach is a picturesque and popular tourist destination located in the municipality of Podgora, in the Splitsko-dalmatinska županija region of Croatia. It is situated on the Makarska Riviera and is known for its natural beauty and serene environment. The beach spans over a length of 1 kilometer and is composed of pebbles, gravel, and concrete/stone slabs. The gravel turns into sand when it comes into contact with water, providing a pleasant entry into the sea.

Plišivac Beach is surrounded by a dense pine forest, which provides natural shade for the visitors. However, these shaded spots are limited and often occupied early in the morning. The beach is less crowded compared to other nearby locations, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful vacation. Families with children often choose this beach due to its proximity to the city center and the shallow sea, which makes it safer for children to play.

The beach offers various amenities for the convenience of the visitors. There are shower facilities available for those who want to rinse off after a swim. Sunbeds are also available for rent, although the cleanliness of these has been a point of concern. For refreshments, there is a restaurant, a café bar, and a snack bar available on-site. However, the beach does not offer any specific activities and beach shoes are recommended due to the small pebbles and gravel.

Parking at Plišivac Beach is available but comes with a fee. There are two parking areas; one is located right at the beach with limited spots, while the other, a larger parking area, is located at the port, a 10-minute walk from the beach. The beach can be accessed via an asphalt road that runs around to the Welcome to Podgora Boat. This path offers stunning views of the mountain range, making the walk to the beach a scenic journey. Despite its popularity, especially during peak season, finding a spot on the beach should not be a problem due to its considerable length.
