Poro Beach

Poro Beach is a public beach located in the Philippines. The beach is known for its natural beauty, featuring a sandy beach area, a section with fragmented corals, and rock formations. The beach is surrounded by a jungle hill, which offers a panoramic view of the area, although caution is advised due to the high cliffs. The water at Poro Beach is crystal clear, making it a good spot for swimming and snorkeling. The beach is home to a lot of corals and rocks along the shore.

The beach has basic amenities including cottages and shelters from the sun, located under the trees. There is also a local store selling hot water, cup noodles, instant coffee, and local alcoholic beverages. However, the facilities are somewhat lacking, with the toilets being neglected and showers only available in the mainland barangay.

Getting to Poro Beach can be a bit of a challenge. The road leading to the beach is mountainous, with steep climbs and descents, and is not in the best condition. Some parts of the road are unpaved, and there are areas with demolished concrete that could potentially damage vehicles. It is recommended to use a 4-wheel vehicle for the journey. There is also a local transport option, a jeepney from Naga to Libmanan, followed by a habal habal ride to Bahao. From there, a boat ride is required to reach Poro Island.

Despite the somewhat difficult journey, many visitors find the trip to Poro Beach to be worth it. The beach is not overly crowded, and the local people are known to be very accommodating. However, it is advised to bring your own food and drinks as the options on the island are limited.
