Riviera Beach

Riviera Beach is a popular beach located in Malta, adjacent to Golden Bay. It is known for its clean, light-colored water and fine sand. The beach is fairly large, providing ample space for visitors to either rent a sunbed or sit directly on the sand. The water is shallow for about 100-200 metres, making it an ideal location for various water activities.

The beach is accessible via a short, less than five-minute walk from the parking area. There are also stairs leading to the beach, as well as hiking trails that offer stunning views of Riviera Beach from the top. These trails also lead further to Gnejna Beach. However, visitors should be aware that the beach can get crowded, particularly after 12pm. It is also worth noting that the water can become cloudy due to the crowd.

In terms of amenities, Riviera Beach offers swings for photo opportunities and water sports rentals. Visitors should be aware, though, that the beach can be home to jellyfish. While the ones encountered are typically not harmful, it is something to consider for those planning to snorkel.

Getting to Riviera Beach from the southern part of the island can be challenging. Buses can be late and often full, leading some visitors to opt for other transportation options, such as Uber.
