Sazak Koyu is a picturesque bay situated in the Kumluca district of Antalya province in Turkey, specifically within the boundaries of Parlak village. The bay is known for its scenic views and tranquil atmosphere, enhanced by its close proximity to the Aegean Sea. Exotic views of Chios Island can also be admired from this location.
The bay is surrounded by lush forest and flaunts a beach with a mix of sand and pebbles, lapped by the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The name "Sazak Koyu" is derived from the blueberry trees, known as "Sazak Ağacı" in the local language, found in the inner parts of the bay.
Reaching Sazak Koyu can be a bit of an adventure. Boat tours from Adrasan are a popular mode of transport, with the journey taking approximately 40 minutes. Alternatively, one can travel by car from Kumluca's Parlak village. However, the forest road leading to the bay is only suitable for 4x4 vehicles, hence it is not recommended for regular cars. The journey from the center of Adrasan can take about half an hour by an off-road car or about one and a half hours on foot. It is advisable to avoid this route during windy or rainy weather due to poor road conditions.
Despite its remote location, Sazak Koyu is a popular spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Activities such as camping, swimming, and exploring the bay and its surrounding areas are common among visitors. However, there are no facilities or markets in the area, so visitors need to come prepared with their own supplies. It is also important to note that the water from the pump is not drinkable and there are no toilet facilities at the beach. The bay can get crowded with boats, so visitors are asked to respect the environment by taking their garbage with them when they leave.
The natural beauty of Sazak Koyu, unfortunately, has been marred by littering. Visitors are therefore urged to help preserve the beach's pristine condition by picking up any trash they find. Despite the lack of amenities and presence of predatory flies, those who come prepared can enjoy a peaceful and rewarding experience at Sazak Koyu.
Visitor reviews highlight the natural beauty of the beach, with its clear, aquarium-like sea, and serene location nestled among the mountains. Many visitors recommend it as an ideal spot for camping due to its calmness and scenic views. However, complaints are primarily about the poor road conditions leading to the beach, lack of facilities such as toilets, and issues with cleanliness due to littering.
