Silence Beach

Silence Beach, also referred to as Playa del Silencio, is a public beach nestled in the city of Cudillero in Asturias, Spain. This well-regarded attraction is renowned for its distinctive natural beauty, characterized by a bay surrounded by rocky cliffs. The beach itself comprises of sand, however, the shoreline is also rocky, making it a less comfortable spot for lounging.

The beach's clear waters and rocky bottom create a vibrant habitat for a diverse range of marine life, making it a favored spot for snorkeling. However, prospective snorkelers should be aware that the water can be quite cold and are advised to wear appropriate gear such as a surfsuit or scubasuit. Apart from snorkeling, the beach is also an ideal location for picnics and leisurely walks. Despite this, swimming is generally not recommended due to the rocky bottom.

Visitors to Silence Beach will find it accessible via a series of stairs. There are multiple parking spots located along the road leading to the beach, although some may charge a fee. Free parking spaces are also available further down the road, but these may be narrow and could necessitate a longer walk to reach the beach.

Silence Beach is a popular destination and can often become quite crowded. Visitors are therefore advised to bring everything they need for the day, given that the beach is a significant hike down and back. Despite some of these challenges, the beach's breathtaking views and rich marine life make it a must-visit attraction in Cudillero.
