Wasserfall Bischofshofen UNESCO-Geopark Erz der Alpen

Wasserfall Bischofshofen is a notable natural attraction located within the UNESCO-Geopark Erz der Alpen. This site is renowned for its stunning waterfall, which offers superior views to visitors. The waterfall is accessible via a challenging climb of 172 stairs, leading to the top of the waterfall and then a few hundred more to the top of the mountain. This climb is often described as demanding, yet rewarding, with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape from the top. The area around the waterfall is characterized by its beautiful natural scenery, particularly during the autumn months when the foliage takes on vibrant hues. In addition to the waterfall, the site also features an interesting rustless 'implosion' boxes sculpture. Visitors to Wasserfall Bischofshofen can take advantage of free parking available at the base of the ski jumping place. From the parking area, the waterfall is a short 5-10 minute walk away. The site also offers clear and free restroom facilities for the convenience of visitors. Despite the challenging climb, the site is popular among nature enthusiasts and those seeking outdoor adventure. However, it's worth noting that the upper path to the waterfall may sometimes be closed, limiting access to only a portion of the waterfall. Additionally, the stairs leading up the waterfall side were under repair as of July 2023, though they remained usable with some minor obstacles.
