Bistrinačka Beach

Bistrinačka Beach, situated in Bistrinci, is a notable sandy beach along the Drava River. The beach is renowned for its cleanliness and provides an ideal spot for summertime refreshment. The tranquility of the area makes it an inviting location for those seeking peace and quiet. Despite the peaceful ambiance, the beach also offers a festive atmosphere during the bathing season, thanks to the unique events that are hosted there.

The beach is most famous for hosting the Bistrigina - Panonian Championship in picigin, a distinctive game played in the river. The competition involves teams of five players, who are evaluated by judges on the basis of three categories: attractiveness, technique, and endurance. The local team, Piciganci iz Bistrinaca, has a history of defending their title in these competitions.

Additionally, the beach is known for the Karabatak Beach Party. This event features music by a well-known DJ, creating a beach party atmosphere that draws in crowds. Visitors to the party can enjoy local delicacies such as karašnicla, karaviršla, and various types of karabatkova.

Access to the beach can be influenced by the water level of the Drava River. At times, the beach has been inaccessible due to high water levels, but it typically emerges when the levels decrease, allowing for visitors to enjoy a refreshing swim in the fastest continental river. The beach officially opens for the season in July.

Despite its popularity, visitors are advised to exercise caution while enjoying the waters of the Drava. The beach does not offer any specific amenities or parking facilities.
