The beach's natural characteristics include a rocky terrain and significant waves. These features may not be ideal for those looking to simply lay on the beach, as the rocks make it difficult to find a comfortable spot. Additionally, the waves may require visitors to change their location periodically. At high tide, a significant portion of the beach goes underwater, and a rock wall appears behind.

Praia do Canavial is also known as a nudist beach. Visitors are encouraged to respect this designation and the peace of those who frequent it for this purpose.

Access to the beach can be challenging. It requires navigating a dirt road and jumping over a wooden walkway. However, there is a specific staircase that leads down to the beach, which is located to the right of a warning sign near a green metal fence. It is advised not to attempt descending to the beach without using this staircase, as it can be dangerous.

Despite its secluded nature, the beach offers amenities such as food and drinks, allowing visitors to spend several hours enjoying the serene environment.
