Playa De Oleiros is a secluded beach nestled in the coastal town of Cudillero, Asturias. It is known for its unique shell shape, bordered by two rocky areas, Mal Perro and La Cavona. The beach is situated at the base of high cliffs and is surrounded by lush pine forests, adding to its natural beauty.
The beach is characterized by its gravelly terrain and toasted-colored sand, which stretches across a length of 700 meters and a width of 35 meters. It is also known for the river La Tejera which flows into it, and the clear, clean water that makes it an ideal spot for water sports such as fishing, surfing, and windsurfing.
Despite its remote location, Playa De Oleiros can get quite crowded, especially during the peak season. It is frequented by naturists and is part of the Protected Landscape of the Western Coast. However, the beach does not offer any services or lifeguards, and visitors are advised to exercise caution when swimming.
Access to the beach can be challenging due to the steep and narrow stairs leading down to it, making it unsuitable for those with vertigo. Visitors typically need to walk for about 20 minutes along a pine trail and descend a few stairs to reach the beach. Alternatively, visitors can take a detour on the N-632 road towards Lamuño and then Salamir, where a road leads to the recreational area called "Monte Valsera." From here, a path leads to the beach.
Parking is available near the beach with a capacity for 15 cars. However, due to the challenging terrain, many visitors prefer to park their cars and walk to the beach. Despite these challenges, the stunning views and wild landscape make Playa De Oleiros a must-visit location for nature lovers and beach enthusiasts.
