Salinas Beach

Salinas Beach, situated in the Castrillón region of Asturias, is a popular destination renowned for its excellent surfing conditions and scenic beauty. The beach is characterized by its golden sand and moderate waves, making it a suitable location for both surfing and swimming. It extends over a length of 2100 meters and an average width of 110 meters at low tide, providing ample space for relaxation and sunbathing.

The beach is divided into two distinct zones, each offering unique features. The Balneario area is recognized for its safe bathing conditions, with calm waters suitable for swimming. In contrast, the El Espartal zone, which covers the central part of the coastline, is favored by surfers for its ideal surfing conditions.

Salinas Beach offers a variety of amenities to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for visitors. These include toilets, showers, changing rooms, a children's play area, and a surf practice area. Additional services such as a yacht club, tourist office, litter bins, cleaning service, and telephones are also available. For those interested in local history and culture, an anchor museum and a viewpoint offering stunning views are located at the end of the promenade.

Despite its popularity, Salinas Beach maintains a high occupancy rate and can often be crowded, especially during the afternoon. It is therefore recommended that visitors plan their trips early in the day for a more peaceful experience.

The beach is easily accessible, with the nearest marina being Avilés, located 8 kilometers away. The N-632 motorway is the closest to the beach, allowing visitors to reach the beach by car. Alternatively, the beach can also be reached on foot. Despite being classified as an urban beach due to its level of development, Salinas Beach retains its natural charm, offering tranquility and a perfect setting for long walks by the sea.
