Playa Samarincha, alternatively known as Playa Samarinchón, is a semi-urban natural heritage beach situated in the municipality of Gozón, in the Cabo Peñas region of Asturias, Spain. The beach is located to the east of Punta Samarincha and is part of the Comarca del Cabo Peñas, the most northern territory in Asturias. This beautiful and wild beach is located in the central region of Asturias, a fertile area consisting of ten different regions, and is part of the parish of Luanco.
The beach is characterized by its smooth pebble surface that extends along its entire length and at both ends. It has a width of approximately 110 meters and a length of 120 meters. Its natural attributes also include stunning views and a cozy environment, providing an ideal setting for various types of tourism, including active, archaeological, camping, mountain racing, coastal, protected areas, gastronomic, LGBT, birdwatching, rural, and sun and beach tourism.
Playa Samarincha is not a popular beach among the public and thus, it remains mostly empty. The beach lacks a promenade and experiences moderate waves. It also does not have any signposted access and it is not a nudist beach.
Despite the lack of popularity, Playa Samarincha is easily accessible on foot. There are stairs leading down to the beach, making it especially accessible at low tide. However, the beach does not have any parking or surveillance facilities. There is also a lack of infrastructure on the beach, with the exception of a mooring area. Amenities such as lifeguard signals, urban parking, adapted access for disabled people, toilets, showers, public telephones, trash cans, umbrella or hammock rentals, kiosks, and diving areas are not available at the beach.
The municipality of Gozón, which is known for its beaches, cliffs, and the picturesque Cape Peñas with its lighthouse, manages the beach. The serene and quiet atmosphere of Playa Samarincha makes it a perfect place for relaxation, despite the high tide which can make space scarce at times. Nevertheless, there is always room for a bath, making it an ideal spot for a morning bath.
Best restaurants near Playa Samarincha include Restaurante La Ribera, El Tormentín, Restaurante Marino De Luanco, Guernica and Restaurante La Posada Del Mar.
Visitor reviews highlight the beauty and wild nature of the beach, with its stunning views and cozy environment being particularly appreciated. The beach's location in the middle of the town and its accessibility at both high and low tides are also praised. However, some visitors complain about the scarcity of space at high tide.
