Il-Mara

Il-Mara is a stunning beach located on the island, known for its breathtaking sunset views. However, it is important to note that reaching this beach can be quite challenging and risky. There are no signs or trails leading to the beach, and the journey involves traversing hilly terrains and cliffs.

From this point, one must head towards a hilly part on the left, walk along a path that goes down towards a small cliff overlooking Il-Mara. The path is narrow but relatively safe if one is careful. The journey continues down the rocks to a small cave that leads to the sea. However, it is not recommended to go down to the sea from the cave due to the risk involved. Instead, one can continue walking down while leaning on the cliff face for safety. At one point, it is necessary to traverse the cliff face for about 30 meters. Despite the solid cliff face with great holds, this part is considered the riskiest.

It is important to note that there is no mobile service in the area, making it a potentially dangerous location for those without climbing experience. Also, the beach is marked as private land, and trespassing is not allowed. The road leading to the beach from the cave side is in poor condition, but it is possible to reach the beach by taking a longer loop from the city side, which is in better condition.

Immerse yourself in the adventure of Il-Mara and find places to stay nearby, offering breathtaking sunset views.

Despite the challenges in reaching Il-Mara, the beach is known for its natural beauty. However, it is not a typical beach as the water is not easily accessible. The area is more suited for those seeking adventure and stunning views rather than a traditional beach experience.

However, the journey to the beach is risky and requires some climbing experience due to the difficult terrain and lack of mobile service. Some visitors also complained about the lack of clear access, with some areas marked as private and others requiring trespassing on abandoned property.
