Pretty Bay

Pretty Bay is a man-made sandy beach located in the southern Maltese town of Birzebbugia. Known for its light blue and green waters, the beach is a popular spot for locals, particularly during the summer season. Despite being artificially filled with sand, the beach maintains a natural charm that draws visitors from far and wide.

Notable for the buildings, cafes, bars, and restaurants lining its shores, Pretty Bay offers a unique coastal experience. Many locals own summerhouses near the beach and relocate there during the warmer months. The beach also features a football pitch and a playground for children, adding to its family-friendly appeal.

While it can get crowded on weekends during the summer, the beach also offers quieter moments, providing a peaceful and restful day for visitors. The adjacent promenade is a popular spot for evening walks, though the view from the bay is somewhat disturbed by the nearby Malta International Freeport.

Pretty Bay provides several amenities for visitors, including food and drink stands, chair and umbrella rental, and restrooms. However, water sport rental and lifeguard services are not available. Despite this, the beach is still recommended for children due to its calm, blue waters and minimal wave activity.

Parking near Pretty Bay can be challenging, especially when the beach is full. Most parking is on-street, but free car parking is available near the beach, making it possible for visitors to spend multiple days enjoying the beach's charm and amenities.
